NAMI Portage-Wood Counties

Nami Portage-Wood Counties offers mental health resource materials to anyone in Portage-Wood Counties. NAMI Wisconsin and NAMI National

NAMI Wisconsin provides news about mental illness, educational programs, events and links to important resources available to Wisconsin residents. They also advocate for mental illness through the legislative system. 
NAMI National offers a mental health helpline, information about the COVID-19 challenges for those with mental illness, advocacy opportunities, and assistance for those affected by a mental health condition.

Mental Health Navigators
Get help navigating the complicated mental health services system. Contact CAP Services at 715-343-7104 for information.

Mid-State Independent Living Center (MILC)
A recovery center for people experiencing mental health and/or addiction problems.

Portage County Health and Human Services
Provides payment assistance to Portage County residents for counseling and psychotherapy.

Aging & Disability Resource Center
Can help cut the 'red tape' by assisting in applying for disability benefits.

Portage County Suicide Prevention
Provides support groups, connections to mental health services and a drop-in recovery center. Also partners with NAMI Portage-Wood Counties to offer a monthly Mental Health Wellness Group Speaker.  The Schedule of Speakers can be found under News on this website.

OCD Support Group
All family & friends of someone affected by OCD are welcome, no matter where you live. Meets virtually (Zoom) the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month

A warmline is typically a peer-run listening line staffed by poeople directly impacted by mental health, substance use, or even particular areas of focus such as LGBT+ and more.
